Characters

DD - His birth name was Dorian. His mother was a human noble woman. His father was a nobleman (as it turns out a vampire). When he was a boy, a rogue vampire broke into his home and murdered his mother. He avenged her death and killed the vampire, but in the heat of the moment his bloodlust took over and he fed on the vampire. The maids caught him at that moment and blamed him for killing his mother. Dorian fled on Shadowfright. Now, he just goes by D. He blames his father for his outcast existence - for making him a vampire and, as he believes, for sending the rogue vampire after his mother. Sometime after he'd been on the road for a while, he met Llaw, a demon with a variety of useful abilities and, more importantly, knowledge of how to find D's father.

Llaw (the hand)Llaw (the hand) - Llaw (pronounced "hla") is the name I gave to the symbiote that lives in D's left hand. In my series, Llaw is a demon that has reluctantly allied himself with D. Llaw was originally trapped, but living in D's hand, he has mobility. D never misses a beat to threaten to leave him when he gets annoying. That usually shuts the symbiote up.

ShadowfrightShadowfright - Shadowfright is the name I gave to D's cyborg horse mount. Shadowfright seems to have an uncanny intelligence and durability for such an old model. Shadowfright and D have been together since D was boy. D wouldn't trade him for anything.

Anastasia MoonstoneAnastasia Moonstone - Stacy is D's current companion. She's an outcast, like D. Unlike D, she's not part vampire. She's made herself literate and learned medical practices that are only known to the nobility, which are vampires. D knows some of these practices himself, being of noble blood, but Stacy is more knowledgeable. She's also discovered she can cast spells, making her a witch. Witches are rare and highly sought after by the nobility for their strong life force. Needless to say, Stacy feels a lot safer with D.
