About My Series
Vampire Hunter D belongs to Urban Vision, Streamline Pictures, Hideyuki Kikuchi (Asashi Sonorama), etc.
Although there are many books and two movies, my series is loosely based off the first movie (1985). The setting is many thousands of years into the future where people live in isolated pockets around the world, trying to scrape together a meager living, all the while fending off the demons and vampires that come to claim them. The nobility are all vampires, and they make a point of exercising their status by controlling their human settlements and taking whoever and whatever they so please.
D is a dhampir, half-human/half-vampire, and a vampire hunter who wanders from town to town on the back of a cyborg horse. He's on his own mission, but every so often someone manages to persuade him to intervene on their behalf. He carries a big sword and wears a hat with a distinctive mother-of-pearl pin in it. He also has a symbiote in his left hand which has its own abilities. D never stays in any one place for long. People have a rightful hatred of vampires and few of them have any tolerance for even a half-vampire.
In my series, D is seeking out his father, whom he blames for his vampire heritage and for the death of his mother, when he comes across a teenage girl, Stacy Moonstone. Stacy understands what it is to be an outcast. At a young age, Stacy took it upon herself to become literate, an ability usually reserved for the nobility. From her readings, she learned of medical practices long forgotten and discovered she also had magical abilities.
She met D when he took on a job of dispatching a water nymph; but when his employer found out what D was, he brought a mob of people to attack him. Stacy saved him using magic, which marked her an outcast as well.
Now, they journey together.
